I’ve always dabbled in creativity. And after having my first son, I yearned for something new. I decided to try and teach myself how to handletter and ended up starting a little side business called Abbey Lane Designs, where I would create custom handlettered quotes as wooden wall art. I would build the sign in my dad's woodshop and then I would handletter their custom quote

After a few years, I realized being a stay-at-home mom wasn't for me and I got a part-time job at our local tanning salon. I gave it my all for three full years, but knew I needed more out of life. After taking my dad's entrepreneurship class, I realized I wanted to open a store, but of what, I wasn't sure at first. After meshing my passions in life with my love for giving gifts, I figured out the right path for me.

As much as my dad would like my store to be named, Abbey Lane, I didn't want it to be confused with Abby's down the road. I also needed a break from creating custom signs, so I didn't want to use my previous business name for our new adventure. I did keep it personal with using my middle name in the mix, but I wanted this new path to focus on creativity and the road it leads you on.
